Xoroi, a man of unknown past who arrived by sea, no one knows how, possibly the only survivor of a shipwreck, took refuge in the cave.

The surrounding country houses were frequently looted. One day a beautiful woman about to get married disappeared from one of these houses.

Months and years passed... and nothing more was heard about the missing young woman.

One winter day the island was dressed in unusual snowfall. Telltale footprints appeared in the snow leading to the cave in the cliff where the pirate Xoroi had taken refuge.

The men of the town grouped together and armed themselves to follow the footprints and descend the cave. In the grotto, to their surprise, they found a man, a woman and three children, the fruit of their love.

Xoroi, finding himself cornered and helpless, threw himself into the sea. His eldest son followed him without thinking twice. The sea that had brought the corsair closed over them, keeping the mystery of their life.

Heartbroken, the woman and her two children were transferred to Alaior where they lived and had children. A descent that according to locals is still felt in the streets of one of the most charming towns on the island.
